I coined the word BRUILT as a portmanteau word from the two words - BROKEN & REBUILT.
When I created the BRUILT concept, I wanted to create a lifestyle & personal growth design & management programme that breaks old and bad paradigms to then build new and sustainable paradigms. I have been contributing to the personal growth movement for over 20 years. If we want to get significantly different—and permanent—results, we must change the paradigm to align with what we want. Through my Bruilt Life Dashboard Programmes, you will learn how to create productive paradigms so you can integrate your desire for a better life with your behaviour. After navigating seasons of deep personal and professional transitions, I realised that some of the most inspiring conversations often happen behind closed doors; stories of resilience, reinvention, and the quiet courage it takes to start again. I wanted to create a space where those stories could be heard.

MY BRUILTING PROCESS

I coined the word BRUILT in 2006 and for about 10 years after that, I was going through the toughest challenges of my life and it was during this time I truly experienced what it meant to be BRUILT. BRUILT is the second half of a journey I have already begun. Something I experienced in my life, started me on this path, which caused me to want to become more. It’s more than just losing a job, being made redundant or not being able to find work, being divorced, being a single parent.

THE BRUILTING PROCESS IS LIKE THE ART OF KINTSUGI
If you are familiar with the Japanese art of Kintsugi, then you’ll understand what being BRUILT is all about. 'Kintsugi' (金継ぎ) is a Japanese technique for repairing broken pieces of pottery with seams of silver, gold, platinum or some other precious metal (I prefer to use Rhodium as my precious metal). The word means 'golden joinery' in Japanese. This repairs the brokenness in a way that makes the object more beautiful, and even more unique than it was prior to being broken. Instead of hiding the scars it makes a feature of them, by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver or platinum.

Searching for ways to improve yourself can raise questions like: Where do I start? Can I trust this person? Is what’s offered really valuable? That’s why we believe there’s a need for curation, transparency, and a fresh impulse in general. When we go to a gym and work on our bodies by doing exercises, our goal is to improve parts of ourselves. Instead of deciding that we need to work on our biceps, it’s not as common to decide we need to work on our anxieties or on our confidence, our frustration or our capacities for gratitude. Because of the correlation of mind and body, we believe it should be. It’s just as important to exercise our minds to get in perfect mental shape to do our best thinking to realise our best lives.
